CMYA Launches Another Racing Yacht

The last report of the Civano Micro Yachting Association announced its formation. At the time CMYA had two boats in the water and three under construction. Now a third boat is in the water. This one was built by Jerry Walker, a Civano resident. It is a Soling One Meter, shortened to S1M. One of the pictures shows how CMYA members “tank test” their boats. Jerry’s was in the “tank” checking out repairs because it had demonstrated a significant leak during its first outing at the pond. All of the nominees represent the rich community history and deep personal values found in people throughout Tucson’s neighborhoods. A “Street Naming Ceremony” took place on the site in May 1998. Lemmon this Summer 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Sunday from May 29 through September 4 Southern Arizona’s premier summer concert series, Music on the Mountain, returns to Summerhaven this summer. Changes at the Yoga House

By Susan Hamilton If you haven’t been to classes at the Yoga House at Civano in awhile, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the changes. Jenny Kendall, the new manager since February, has returned the Yoga House to Ingrid Anderson’s original vision for the studio. It’s once again a gathering site for the Civano community and southeast-side residents as well as a warm and welcoming place to exercise. Each month, gatherings are held at the Yoga House. Recently on a Friday afternoon, people met teachers, sampled classes, enjoyed each other’s company, and shared snacks and drinks at a patio party....

By Dr. Carolyn Finnell Allergy season is strongly upon us! Itchy, swollen eyes, runny nose, sinus congestion and itchy throat are all symptoms of seasonal allergies. Itchy eyes are caused by histamine, a protein which is released from immune cells called mast cells in the ocular tissue. If you are suffering from ocular allergies, those affecting the eyes, there are a few things that can be done about it.
