By Susan Call On April 21, Civano Neighbors took advantage of the Civano Community School’s annual rummage sale to offer ice cream floats in celebration of this year’s Earth Day. The turnout for the sale was great, even if the ice cream floats weren’t as popular as hoped. Thanks to Todd Craig for serving as “soda jerk” for the event!
By Pam Bateman On the morning of February 22, Phil Odgen came by the school to deliver two boxes of books for the middle school and to tell us the sad news of Brenda Patrick’s passing. Brenda and her husband, Phil, have always been big supporters of the school, and in this last year Brenda heard the call for 100 books for the middle school, and she answered that call again and again! She alone sent hundreds of books to the school, and most probably doubled the amount of books on our middle school shelves in this school year....

As many of you know, our kitchen opened last February after many years of fundraising and planning. We serve lunch three days a week, have one day to prep for the week, and one day for the kids to get in the kitchen and have some hands-on experience. Our menu is based around healthy farm-to-table ingredients. We have a wonderful partnership with Sleeping Frog Farms. They supply us with organic, locally grown produce for our lunches.
